The new episode of Wildfire, starting tonight (July 5) features a fascinating talk with Master Maine Guides Carroll and Lila Ware of Fins & Furs Adventures in Skowhegan, starting with their new fishing trip to Cuba. Carroll is headed there soon to check it all out, subsequent to accompanying his clients on what will certainly be an amazing angling adventure.
From Quebec and Labrador to the Bahamas and Chile, Carroll and Lila offer truly unique hunting and fishing adventures, and we talked about many of them. They also host Maine Guides Training Programs, giving us a chance to discuss current guiding issues and concerns.
Each edition of Wildlife, hosted by James Cote and me, is aired on Time Warner cable station 9 on Tuesdays at 7 pm, Thursdays at 6:30 pm, and Sundays at 9:30 am. Each edition airs for two weeks. You can also access the show online at www.vstv.me.
Each show also features a question for viewers, who can go to my website, www.georgesmithmaine.com, to access the Sportsmen Say Survey and answer the question. The question we posed at the end of the show with Carroll and Lila is: Should more than the current 10% of moose permits be allocated to nonresidents to help the outdoor industry including guides and sporting camps?
Feel free to go to my website now to answer the question, but please be sure to watch the show too. I guarantee you will enjoy this episode.
