Pressing Matters by Bruce Fleming, published by Maine Authors Publishing, is a compelling novel with interesting characters and an amazing plot. Honestly, I could not stop reading.
The central character owns a lot of newspapers and is terribly mean to his family members – especially his son, and his friends. A lot of the relationships are torn apart, many because of the actions of the newspaper owner.
As the story progresses there are lots of up-and-downs as bad things happen and then people regroup. I thought Bruce did a great job of creating characters that are very real.
Bruce Fleming is a Mainer who grew up in the Katahdin region, and always enjoyed television dramas, which I guess inspired his writing. There is certainly a lot of drama in Pressing Matters.
I don’t want to give it away, but the ending is amazing. I am sure you will never forget this story.
