Steve Hirshberg is one of the leaders of TU’s Georges River Chapter. Steve recently emailed me this photo of one of four 18 inch brook trout that an angler killed and left to rot at Ghent Road in Searsmont beside the George’s River.
These fish were recently stocked by DIF&W.
“In my view,” wrote Steve, “the Department should not reveal stocking details to the public until the fish have had a week or so to disperse within the wild habitat.”
I can’t imagine catching brook trout and leaving them on shore to rot. Shameful.
