Issues from turkeys and moose to ATVs scheduled for hearings

Issues including turkeys, moose, deer, and bears, to landowner relations, ATVs, and invasive aquatic species will be heard on February 11 and 13 by the legislature’s Committee on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Monday, February 11, 9 am

LD 275, An act to change the bag limits on wild turkey

LD 313, An act to increase access to moose and doe permits for combat-injured veterans

LD 321, An act to ensure the continuation of the landowner relations program

LD 337, An act to start a spring beer hunting season.

Wednesday, February 13, 9 am

LD 212, An act to provide a source of funding for the ATV recreational management fund

LD 235, An act to increase funding to contain and manage the spread of invasive aquatic species

LD 339, An act to prohibit unattended watercraft on open water

LD 386, An act to establish a comprehensive wildlife biology internship program

LD 442, An act to set speed limits for all terrain vehicles on trails within 50 yards of a stream or pond to prevent runoff

In 2016, Down East Books published George's book, Maine Sporting Camps, and Islandport Press published George and his wife Linda's travel book, Take It From ME, about their favorite Maine inns and restaurants.
