I’ve written four books that I hope might make your Christmas wish list, and/or be gifts you purchase for others.
My first book, A Life Lived Outdoors, published by IslandPort Press, is a collection of favorite columns about home, camp, and Maine life, including stories about growing up in Winthrop. One section is stories of family, friends, and faith, and of course there is another section of hunting and fishing stories.
For 7 years, Linda and I wrote weekly travel columns for the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel. And in 2016, IslandPort Press published a book, Take It From Me, about our favorite Maine restaurants, inns, and lodges. A lot of people have used that to select new places to visit.
Down East Books asked me to write a book about Maine Sporting camps, which was published in 2016, titled Maine Sporting Camps. It was a lot of work, but I did it to help our struggling camps. I was particularly pleased by the stories I was able to include in the book written by camp owners and guests. I hope you will use the book to select a sporting camp to visit in 2019.
In 2017, North Country Press published my book of hunting and fishing stories, titled A Lifetime Of Hunting and Fishing. I was truly blessed by a lifetime of outdoor adventures, including lots of fishing trips to Canada, Montana, and Alaska. And of course, there are many stories of hunting and fishing in Maine. Included are wild animal stories and my favorite section: Game Mistakes and Other Weird Things.
Merry Christmas!
