This will make you wish you were a fairy

Liza Gardner Walsh’s new children’s book, How Do Fairies Have Fun In The Sun, will make you wish you were a fairy.

Published by Down East Books, Liza’s wonderful book questions what fairies would want to do in the sun. Each option – from sailing to setting up a bake sale, are presented in a rhyme.

“Do they wear miniature sunglasses to protect their eyes – As they sit on the beach to watch the sunrise?” Well, sure!
Toward the end is the possibility: “Maybe they just eat ice cream, popsicles, and berries – And simply watch as YOU assemble houses for fairies.”

At the end of the book are detailed instructions on how to build a fairy house.

The illustrations in this book are fabulous, done by Hazel Mitchell, an award-winning illustrator of more than a dozen books. Hazel grew up in England but now lives in Maine.

Liza Gardner Walsh has written more than a dozen books, some of which I reviewed. She’s a school librarian and lives in Camden.

You’ll want to read Liza’s new book to your children or grandchildren. And be prepared to build a fairy house when you are done reading!
