Steve DeAngelis of Readfield is hoping to ski his way to victory in the Democratic gubernatorial primary. Steve has been an exceptional teacher and cross-country ski coach at Maranacook High School. He has had a very positive impact on thousands of students, including two of my kids.
On March 24, Steve takes his campaign to northern Maine, where he will ski from Fort Kent to Millinocket. And here’s the really good news. You can ski with him.
If you are not a skier, Steve’s hoping you will join him at one of his scheduled events along the way. Here’s the information you need to do that.
Steve’s Ski Adventure
Steve DeAngelis, Democratic candidate for Governor of Maine, is planning a ski tour across Northern Maine. He has been a ski coach for 40 years, and plans to engage Northern Maine voters through the outdoor activity that he loves the most.
Steve will start his ski in Fort Kent on Wednesday, March 21 at 7:00 AM. He will ski from Fort Kent to Stockholm on day 1. Steve will be a guest at the Caribou Rotary meeting (12pm) and will host a 6pm meet & greet at Bob Sprague’s camp in Stockholm.
Steve will ski from Stockholm to Presque Isle on day 2, and will host a gathering at Bike, Board and Ski in Presque Isle at 6 pm. Day 3, Steve will ski from Presque Isle to Mars Hill, where he will host a campaign rally at Bigrock Mountain Ski Lodge at 6 pm. Steve will then ski from Mars Hill to Houlton on day 4, and will be hosting a meet & greet at the Courtyard Cafe in Houlton at 6 pm.
Steve will finish his ski in the morning on March 25 with a loop in Millinocket. Steve’s Ski Across Northern Maine will conclude with a brunch at the Millinocket Design Lab at 10am on the 25th.
Steve’s Ski Across Northern Maine is open to anyone who would like to join — on or off the ski trail. Please contact Steve’s team at SteveDforME@gmail.com for more information about how to be a part of this ambitious endeavor to blaze trails for Maine.
