I am honored to receive this award

I am very honored to be receiving an award at this year’s Evening for the Environment sponsored by the Maine Conservation Voters. The award is the 2017 Harrison L. Richardson Environmental Leadership Award for “writing, speaking, advocating, and inspiring all of us to care for the nature of Maine and her wild places.”

I’m hoping to see some of my friends there. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 25, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm, at Brick South, Thompson’s Point, Portland, and includes food and beverages, speakers, and awards. I’ve attended several of these events and they are always enjoyable.

This year’s keynote speaker is Brian Deese, a Senior Advisor to former President Obama who oversaw climate, conservation, and energy policies. He was one of the key architects of the Paris Climate Agreement. Brian’s expertise and experience will be a guiding light on the federal issues – and the threats – we’re facing now.

And of course, I’ll have something to say too! If you can join us that night, you can reserve your ticket at:
